What’s the difference between parquet and herringbone flooring?

Parquet flooring refers to wood flooring laid in geometric patterns, traditionally made up of small blocks or strips. One of the most popular styles is herringbone, which features rectangular blocks laid in a zigzag design at 90° angles. Other types of parquet include chevron, basket weave, and Versailles panels.

While all herringbone is parquet, not all parquet is herringbone. If you’re seeking a classic, timeless look with dynamic movement, herringbone oak flooring is a customer favourite. More intricate parquet styles offer a unique alternative for period properties or statement floors.
